So here are some stripes)) shorts are looking almost grey, or kind of brownish? I don’t know, but the fabric is fabulous, it is from my fabric haul at Merchant and Mills, but looks like it’s sold out, such a pity…

If you are following me on instagram (@valeriaspeck), you’ve probably seen me in the process of sewing this shorts, but then I got a little (too much) stuck and didn’t publish more of the process photos.. The thing was that first, the pattern had an error, which wasn’t corrected since the pattern came out (2012!!! if I’m not wrong…), such a shame! So.. I was pissed out for some time, because the error is in the length of the belt and on it depended the fit on the butt..oh my! and the other thing is I’m so tired of such kind of “mistakes” that nobody cares enough to let you know! But ok, about this later, later this week! 😉

So I wrote to sewaholic for refund and they ignored me for a week, then I wrote again saying that if they won’t respond me untill next day (midday Spain) I’ll write to PayPal for refund. (and believe me PayPal had a very strong policies with all that sh*t about bad/wrong products.) And you imagined already? Sewaholic responded me with refund next day in the morning! Oh my! Really!? One have to do such kind of things to get good service? And you know what? The pants’ pattern is still selling and nobody talks about the error or correcting it…? Am I the only one who is pissed at such kind of incompetence?

Back to outfit!

The other pattern is Briar TShirt by Megan Nielsen and it is beautiful and fast to sew)! I chose cropped version with short sleeve and neck binding, just because of I had just a little bit of fabric, I used leftovers from my hubby’s T. And the fabric is from Girl Charlee fabric haul I had earlier. So for now, all Girl Charlee fabrics are officially finished, completely (you can head over to the page to see what I’ve made with those fabrics, there are links of plans and links of makes under each fabric, and of course fabric info)! Yay! I can aim at more jerseys in the nearest future 😉

Almost forgot. I made my first ever muslin for these shorts! Muslin was great, fitting like, not a glove, but like shorts specially made for my butt… of course I didn’t include belt and zipper in my muslin,… and when I was at the finishing line sewing like Usain Bolt runs I found out the error of the pattern and that it actually doesn’t fit me that perfectly anymore… I made some crazy modifications, twisting here and there and somehow they fit, not perfectly, not as I want them to fit, but they are very comfy) This makes me happy!) but hey guys! I do not suggest you to try this pattern! It is pain to sew. The instructions are far from being clear and thanks to sew along at Llady Bird blog,..but also I’m left with some “no understanding” parts….blanks in my head… And these are not the first, second..I’ve made3 fly fronts already and even that first one came out better… So I’m looking for great pattern for shorts, have any ideas, just let me know please!)))))

And Briar.. I so recommend it! It is clear, fast and not furious 😉 Love it!

Here is me finding out that the stripes magically matched! 😀 these are process photos..

And here I’m very angry, because the belt sucks and I need all that space to fit my butt..and at the end I was left with like 0,3 mm of seam allowance in the belt, lol 😀
