I wanted to sew a backpack for awhile and I’ve been eyeing those with only one shoulder, thinking that there is something special and unusual about them. Well, it is true, one shoulder backpack does look different, but that one shoulder is not as comfortable as I was expecting.

Oh, and I had no basis for expectations, I just felt it that way, or maybe I just wanted it to be so without any logical reason. Anyway, I’m happy trying it out and also happy to decide that if I will ever sew another backpack it will have TWO shoulders, lol!

What I added to the pattern:

  • interfacings:

Pellon Flex-Foam FF78F1, 1-Sided Fusible

Medium Woven Interfacing, White – Equivalent to Pellon Shape-Flex 101

What I would change for the next one:

  • no white lining for the beach/traveling backpack
  • no side pockets (no use)
  • and two shoulders
  • maybe slightly bigger size, not sure yet
  • maintain interfacing and use it for all over the bag

I got my extra stuff like interfacing and feet from BobbinGirl and let me tell ya, I loved shopping there, very good service (Spanish post was trying to lose my parcel again, but BobbinGirl helped very nicely and Patiently (!-I do loose my patience when my parcel is not on time! But I was calm, thanks to very good customer service!). I definitely recommend you the shop!
