I’ve been away from my sewing machine for over a month now and also away from you guys… We have been moving! Oh yeah! Finally! We were for almost a year to know exact location)) but about this later, it is very life-related situations and a little far from sewing. So, we are in Barcelona! It is super sunny, hot and there are beaches! Just as I love it! hahah and yeah, lots of places to visit, shops and of course fabrics))

As you might know, since I started sewing I’ve never bought my fabrics from a local fabric shop. Now I have finally the opportunity and looks like lots of choices!

Since we’ve moved I haven’t visited a fabric shop, not that I had time or energy to do it, but I did have LOTS of wishes to spend hours there! haha! So, I’ve been thinking what if I make a series of videos taking you with me to visit fabrics shops in Barcelona for the first time??! And I came up with a lil system, lol, you know me, I need system everywhere, haha))

In 1st video, I’ll go to the shop for the first time, see around, check out what shop has and if I like overall experience, but I won’t buy anything… There are two reasons for that. One is because in Santiago de Compostela (overall in Galicia) I’ve experienced that if you visit a shop (90% of the time) and do not buy anything you get “that look”, I’m sure you know what I mean! So, I do not want to sponsor such kind attitude. And the second reason is that I need a sewing list! Our move put all my plans upside down and the weather in Barcelona is super different from Santiago, so I’m rethinking my summer wardrobe and with this, I’ll need a list to shop. Because overwise I’ll end up with lots of fabric I won’t know how to use and what to make out of it…I need a flow, and I’m very conscious of my impulsive nature)).

And in my 2nd video, I’ll go and buy something and share with you the experience of that, how I was attended and other details and feelings. But here is the thing, I’ll film the second video only in case I like the shop and have wishes to come back and actually spend my money there. Because you know, all those months shopping online made my taste. I know exactly where I should go (online) if I’m looking for something. But hey! The experience of actually touching fabrics make me feel crazy and with all these videos I hope to find favorite local shops I can go to get fabrics, to get inspiration or just to pass some time)

And in case you are planning your visit to Barcelona for some vacation time (or business) you’ll be able to add fabric shopping in Barcelona to your schedule 😉 Hope it is going to be helpful! I’ll try to update this post if I’ll discover some extra shops which Google didn’t show to me in the search)

Oh! And in case you live in Barcelona and you know more shops or already have your favorite, please let me know in the comments! I’d love to know!
